Sept 2010 - Farne Islands

A short drive up to the Scottish border and you find yourself at the windswept Farne Islands in Northumbria, England. UK diving is a very different to tropical diving (more equipment, much colder and lower visibility) but it is very special to dive in native waters. The rocky underwater terrain can look barren until you start looking for the little things. The kelp forests are covered in tiny nudibranchs, as crazy and colourful as any you find in tropical waters. The grey seals on the islands are very curious and playful, just don't expect your fins or SMB to escape without being nibbled.

July 2010 - Operation Wallacea

After a lengthy trek across Indonesia I spent 6 weeks working as a divemaster at the Operation Wallacea research base on Pulau Hoga. Diving every day could be described as hard work, but I loved every minute of it. It was great to work with so many inspirational people out there, I hope I can go back next year.
