Sea Cucumber
This picture of a Sea Cucumber, taken in Koh Tao, Thailand, was an inspirational moment underwater.
Watching the slow, considered movements as it moved across the coral, it was as if time slowed right down.
Regeneration Game
Sea cucumbers are actually animals - related to sea stars, sea urchins, sea lilies and sand dollars.
Their black feet are tubes that use water pressure to move, in much the same way as a sea star, and are mainly used for securely attaching themselves to something.
They eat zooplankton which they sweep into their mouth with smaller tubes.
Sea cucumbers have the ability to regenerate body parts and are being actively researched as a possible means of human tissue regeneration.
PADI Competition Winner
This was one of the images that won the PADI Speciality of the Year competition in May 2007.
